After trading away Mason Miller last season, the Athletics are adding some reinforcements to their bullpen.
The Athletics have agreed to a one-year deal with righty reliever Mark Leiter Jr., according to multiple reports on Thursday. The New York Post's Jon Heyman was first to report the signing.
According to ESPN's Jesse Rogers, the deal is worth around $3 million.
Leiter, 34, has spent parts of the last two seasons with the New York Yankees after being acquired in a trade from the Chicago Cubs.
He pitched to a 4.84 ERA with a 1.531 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 48.1 innings over 59 appearances with the Yankees.
Selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 22nd round of the 2013 MLB Draft, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native has a career 4.60 ERA and 1.328 WHIP in 270 appearances split between the Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Cubs and Yankees.
