Right-handed starter Tyler Mahle has agreed to a two-year, $22-million deal with the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
The deal includes up to $5 million in performance bonuses for 2025.
Mahle, 29, underwent Tommy John surgery in May as a member of the Minnesota Twins, meaning he should be available at some point in 2024. He was 1-2 with a 3.16 ERA in five starts in 2023.
In 123 career outings for the Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Twins, Mahle is 33-41 with a 4.30 ERA, 677 strikeouts and 231 walks
The Twins acquired Mahle at the 2022 trade deadline.
