With the Toronto Blue Jays' 50th season about to get underway, Rogers is ready to celebrate with new fan experiences.
Three new programs were announced on Tuesday, aiming to bring fans closer to Canada's MLB team.
“As the proud owner of Canada’s team, we’re excited to celebrate 50 years of Blue Jays baseball with fans from across Canada,” said Edward Rogers, chair of the Blue Jays and executive chair of Rogers Communications, in a statement. “During this milestone season, we’re celebrating the fans that got us here, from first-time fans to lifelong fans."
The first of the three new programs will be "Game Day Owner," with Rogers accepting applications from fans across Canada to win one of six exclusive experiences for one day every month of the season.
Winners will take part in an all-access ownership experience that features:
• Behind-the-scenes access to the Rogers Centre, including the clubhouse
• Meet and greet with a Blue Jays player
• Pitch team executives with your ideas for the franchise
• Sit in on Blue Jays manager media availability
• Watch the game in premium seats in the new Rogers Terrace
• In-stadium recognition and a signed team jersey
• Private Jays Shop shopping spree
The games for which the Game Day Owner program will run are as follows:
• April 7: World Series Rematch vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers
• May 9: Against the Los Angeles Angels
• June 13: ALDS Rematch vs. the New York Yankees
• July 20: AL East Matchup vs. the Tampa Bay Rays
• August 28: ALCS Rematch vs. the Seattle Mariners
• September 12: Battle of the Birds vs. the Baltimore Orioles
Rogers will also give away 5,000 tickets to customers through its Rogers Beyond the Seat program, including 500 tickets for Opening Night against the Athletics on Friday. The ticket giveaways will include seats to the Rogers Landing section and also 100-level seat upgrades.
Tickets will be given away both in person (March 27) and via social media (March 25).
Lastly, Rogers is also launching "Canada's Winning Inning" for the 50th season of Blue Jays baseball. If a Toronto player gets a hit during the identified winning inning, Rogers customers watching the Sportsnet broadcast will have a chance to win exclusive 50th season merchandise, autographed items and VIP experiences.
During the designated winning inning at select home games, customers at the Rogers Centre will also have a chance to win ticket upgrades, discounts on food and merchandise.
