One of the Kansas City Royals' bright young stars has suffered an injury.
Outfielder Jac Caglianone injured his left elbow Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays and was forced to leave the game.
The Royals called the injury "left elbow soreness." Caglianone had an RBI single in the game before he was hurt.
Caglianone was the American League player of the month for August after hitting .411/.429/.684 with six home runs and 26 RBIs. For the season, he has 23 home runs and a .823 OPS in 130 games.
Nick Loftin replaced Caglianone in right field.
