The Toronto Blue Jays will have a big challenge next Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to start Shohei Ohtani on the mound in their series finale against the Blue Jays on April 7, manager Dave Roberts told reporters.
It will be Ohtani's second start of the season. He went six scoreless, allowing just one hit in a win over the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday.
The Dodgers will be in Toronto for a three-game set beginning on Monday in a World Series rematch. The Blue Jays took L.A. to the limit in the Fall Classic, but the Dodgers came out on top in Game 7 for their second straight championship.
In last year's World Series, Ohtani made two starts against the Jays. He went 0-1 with a 7.56 ERA and 1.680 WHIP in 8.1 innings.
Toronto is expected to start Max Scherzer, Kevin Gausman and Dylan Cease in the series against L.A.
The Dodgers are 4-1 on the young season, while the Jays are 4-2.
