Spring training games to begin Feb. 27, Opening Day to be April 1

Spring training games for all 30 teams will begin Feb. 27, MLB announced Wednesday.

The Blue Jays will open their spring training schedule against the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater Fla. before finishing their exhibition schedule on March 29.

Teams will play exhibition games in MLB ballparks and spring training facilities. The 2021 regular season will open on April 1 with the Blue Jays playing against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

MLB also says that the spring training schedule is subject to change as the sport continues to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, MLB announced a revised plan that will see the 2020 post-season played in a bubble format, with games in both Texas and California.
