George Springer is back in the leadoff spot and Kevin Kiermaier will officially return to centre field as the Toronto Blue Jays go for a series win Wednesday over the Baltimore Orioles.
Springer, Kiermaier and Justin Turner missed the first game of the series, all with an illness that has been going around the clubhouse.
Kiermaier was originally scheduled to play Tuesday before the second game of Toronto's series in Baltimore was rained out.
He has a .576 OPS through 26 games this season.
The illness has kept Springer out of the Blue Jays' starting lineup for three of the last four games, with Davis Schneider filling in at leadoff without the right fielder available.
Springer has had a tough first month-and-a-half in 2024, slashing just .200/.273/.290. That includes a .206/.250/.265 line in first innings.
Schneider is moving down to sixth in the lineup and will play second base.
While Turner remains out Wednesday, manager John Schneider said he will be available off the bench. Daniel Vogelbach is batting seventh in the designated hitter spot. With the illness keeping players out, this will be Vogelbach's third start in three games.
Danny Jansen also returns to the lineup after being held out of Monday's game because of back spasms. He was also in the starting nine before the game was rained out on Tuesday.
The Blue Jays will turn to Yusei Kikuchi against Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish as they go for their second straight win against the AL East leaders.
