Less than 24 hours after his game-winning double in the 11th inning, Daulton Varsho is getting the night off in Los Angeles.
Varsho and fellow outfielder George Springer are both out of the lineup for the Blue Jays as they head to Dodger Stadium for the second game in this series.
Whit Merrifield will take Varsho's position in left field and Springer's position as lead off hitter. In right field, Jordan Luplow will slot in for Springer.
Both Springer and Varsho have been struggling offensively recently, batting .260 and .215, respectively.
As the Blue Jays look to continue momentum down the stretch, the club's focus has been on load management as young stars Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played limited roles in Monday's win against the Dodgers.
Catch the Blue Jays in Game 2 against the Dodgers Tuesday night with coverage starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
