Dylan Strome will not return for the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
The forward left early in the first period of their matchup with the Ottawa Senators after recording just 2:34 minutes of ice-time.
Strome crashed into the end boards after he became tangled with Senators defenceman Artem Zub and teammate Jakob Chychrun while skating to the net.
He returned for a pair of shifts after gingerly skating to the bench with the team's training staff, but was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a lower-body injury following the first period.
The 28-year-old inked a five-year contract with the Capitals in February 2023 after joining the club in free agency on a one-year deal the season before.
Strome came into the contest with two goals and eight assists over 10 games and holds a plus-5 rating for the Capitals, who sit fourth in the Metropolitan Division with a 6-2-0 record.
He has posted 81 goals and 143 assists in 253 games since coming to Washington, including 29 goals and 53 helpers in 82 contests last season.
