Detroit Tigers shortstop Kevin McGonigle has made the opening-day roster, the team announced on Tuesday.
McGonigle is the No. 2-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
The 21-year-old slashed .250/.411/.477 with six RBI and two home runs across 56 plate appearances in 20 spring training games this season.
Last season, playing 88 games across three different levels, including with double-A Erie, McGonigle hit .305/.408/.583 with 80 RBI and 19 home runs.
Detroit took McGonigle 37th overall in the 2023 MLB draft.
The Tigers will open their season Thursday against the San Diego Padres.
