Connor Seabold has found a new home.
The Detroit Tigers signed the right-handed pitcher to a 2026 split major league contract worth $800,000 at the big-league level, the team announced Monday.
Seabold was granted his release from the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. He had signed with the Blue Jays on a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training over the off-season.
The 30-year-old showed an increase in velocity in his six spring appearances for Toronto. The results didn't quite follow, though, as he pitched to a 6.75 ERA, walked four and hit three in 6.2 innings.
Seabold pitched with both Tampa Bay and Atlanta in 2025, allowing five earned runs over 10.1 frames. He had previously spent time in the majors with Boston and Colorado.
The Tigers placed right-handed pitcher Beau Brieske on the 60-day injured list with a left adductor strain in a corresponding move. Their 40-man roster is now set.
