Toronto Blue Jays set franchise record for home runs in a season

Danny Jansen hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to set a new Blue Jays franchise record of 258 home runs in a single season.

The Toronto Blue Jays set a new franchise record on Saturday in single-season home runs.

Danny Jansen's opposite-field home run in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the Blue Jays their 258th homer of the 2021 season, surpassing the previous mark of 257 set in 2010.

Jansen's home run was the fifth of Saturday's game for the Blue Jays against the Baltimore Orioles.

Other Blue Jays players to get home runs on Saturday include Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Teoscar Hernandez, and George Springer.
