The AL Central-leading Minnesota Twins look like they're going be shorthanded when they come to Rogers Centre for a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend.
The club placed shortstop Carlos Correa on the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday.
The two-time all-star joins right-handed starter Joe Ryan and backup outfielder Gilberto Celestino on the Twins' COVID-19 list.
Backup shortstop Royce Lewis, the club's top prospect, also is out with a knee injury.
The Twins have already said they'll have "a few" players on the restricted list not travelling to Toronto. This generally means players unvaccinated against COVID-19.
The Twins selected the contract of infielder Jermaine Palacios from triple-A St. Paul to replace Correa.
