Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is good to play after all.
The Toronto Blue Jays first baseman was inserted into the team's starting lineup less than an hour before first pitch of Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 1:35 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT).
Guerrero will return to his usual spot at first base and bat second, while Sean Keys goes back to the bench.
The $500-million slugger left Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers with back soreness and subsequently missed Monday's series opener against the Orioles.
Tuesday's scheduled contest in Baltimore was rained out.
Toronto's post-season hopes are all but extinguished as the reigning AL champion enters action Wednesday needing to win out while either the Chicago White Sox or Cleveland Guardians lose out in order to play into October.
The nightcap of the doubleheader is set for 6:35 p.m. ET / 3:35 p.m. PT, also on Sportsnet.
