The list of competitors in this year's edition of the Home Run Derby is finally set.
It was announced on Thursday that New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. would be the eighth and final competitor in the annual slugging competition in Atlanta.
Earlier on Thursday, Athletics designated hitter Brent Rooker confirmed his participation. The two will now join the already confirmed group of the Mariners' Cal Raleigh, the Nationals' James Wood, the Twins' Byron Buxton, the Braves' Ronald Acuña Jr., the Pirates' Oneil Cruz and the Rays' Junior Caminero.
Fittingly, Chisholm Jr. joins the group a day after he slugged two homers against the Seattle Mariners to lead the Yankees (51-41) to a 9-6 win.

Home Run Derby on Sportsnet
Eight of MLB's top sluggers will go head-to-head in the 2025 Home Run Derby on Monday. Watch the event live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Broadcast Schedule
On the season, Chisholm Jr. is batting .251 with a .530 slugging percentage and has 17 home runs, along with 43 RBI.
Though he has never breached the 30-home run plateau, as a few of the others in the competition have, Chisholm Jr. has had prior campaigns cut short by injury. His .530 slugging percentage this season would place him 14th in MLB if he were a qualified hitter.
You can watch Chisholm Jr. and the rest of the competitors show off their power on Monday, July 14, with coverage on Sportsnet beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
