Chess moves for Game 4 of the ALDS have already begun.
The New York Yankees will roll out a balanced starting lineup that alternates left- and right-handed hitters one through nine, the team announced hours before first pitch on Wednesday.
After scoring 16 runs over their past two games, the Yankees' only lineup substitution is Paul Goldschmidt drawing in at first base for Ben Rice. However, a shake-up in the order will make things tough on Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider as his team proceeds with a bullpen day.
First pitch of Game 4 is set for 7:08 p.m. ET / 4:08 p.m. PT, with live coverage available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
Right-hander Louis Varland will open the game for the Blue Jays one day after allowed the game-tying and go-ahead home runs to Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in Game 3.
Varland and his 100 m.p.h. fastball are slated to meet Judge once again in the first inning.
Rookie righty Cam Schlitter gets the nod for the Yankees after his impressive eight-inning, 14-strikeout showing in the wild-card series against the Boston Red Sox.
The Blue Jays, who have yet to reveal their starting lineup, lead the series 2-1 and can clinch their spot in the ALCS with a win on Wednesday.
