Manager Charlie Montoyo announced after the game that Jansen had right-hamstring tightness. He missed nearly the entire month of June with a hamstring injury. Montoyo added that Jansen will be reassessed on the team’s off-day Thursday.
Jansen was injured in the seventh inning after running to second base on a double. Back-up catcher Reese McGuire replaced him as a pinch-runner.
If Jansen has to go on the injured list, Alejandro Kirk would be the logical call-up from triple-A Buffalo. Kirk was activated from the injured list himself Tuesday and had been on a rehab assignment at triple-A while recovering from a hip injury.
Jansen has hit .172/.257/.328 this season in just 48 games.
