Blue Jays’ John Schneider tossed from series finale in Arizona

Watch as Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider gets ejected from the game after the umpire called a foul ball on Daulton Varsho that doesn't appear to hit his bat.

John Schneider will be getting a head start on his All-Star break.

The Blue Jays skipper was ejected from Sunday’s game in the top of the seventh inning by home plate umpire Gabe Morales after Daulton Varsho was given a strike following an apparent foul tip.

It was unclear whether the Blue Jays outfielder fouled the ball with his half swing or was given a strike for breaking the plane of the plate, but it ended with Varsho in a 0-1 count to Arizona’s Kevin Ginkel.

It is the second ejection in as many days for the Blue Jays, with Chris Bassitt being tossed from Saturday’s 12-1 defeat for arguing a checked swing call that went against George Springer in the top of the fifth inning.

Morales was the first base umpire on Saturday and was the one who tossed Bassitt from the game.
