Kevin Kiermaier is back. The Toronto Blue Jays centre-fielder was listed in the starting lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, set to bat ninth.

Kiermaier has not played since Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Twins, when he exited the game in the first inning with lower-back discomfort after two hard throws from centre field.

By the second throw I was not feeling good at all,” he recalled. “I knew I did something to tick something off down here.”

The 33-year-old did not play on Sunday or in Tuesday’s series opener against Milwaukee.

Kiermaier has been a bright spot for the Blue Jays this season, as not only is he a three-time Gold Glove winner, he’s hitting .319 with four home runs, five stolen bases and an .877 OPS.
