Toronto Blue Jays‘ top-rated prospect Ricky Tiedemann has been promoted to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, the team announced Tuesday.

Tiedemann is scheduled to join the Bisons for the final homestand of the 2023 regular season, but a date for his first start has yet to be determined.

Ranked as the organization’s top prospect by MLB Pipeline, Tiedemann is also ranked second among left-handed pitching prospects and 31st among all minor-league baseball prospects.

In 11 starts for double-A New Hampshire and three additional starts on a minor-league injury rehab assignment, Tiedemann has struck out 76 batters in 40 innings and walked 13.

Tiedemann was drafted in the third round, 91st overall, by the Blue Jays, in the 2021 MLB Draft. The Golden West Junior College product made his professional debut last season for the Dunedin Blue Jays and began his career with a 3-0 record in the Florida State League.

In May 2022, Tiedemann was promoted to Vancouver, making eight starts for the Canadians before finishing the season in New Hampshire. He had an overall 5-4 record with a 2.17 ERA in 18 total starts in 2022, with 117 strikeouts in 78.2 innings pitched.
