The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder George Springer on the 10-day IL with right elbow inflammation, the team announced on Saturday.

Infielder Otto Lopez has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move and will be active for Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Twins.

Springer was omitted from Friday’s lineup due to the inflammation and missed an additional three games earlier in the week as a result.

Springer is batting .251/.331/.464 with 18 home runs and 49 RBI in 89 games this season.
