The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-handed pitcher Casey Lawrence from triple-A Buffalo on Friday afternoon. Lawrence will be active for the Jays’ series opener against the New York Yankees.

The Blue Jays also announced that they have optioned right-hander Jeremy Beasley to the Buffalo Bisons. Beasley had been recalled on June 10 to fill in for the injured Andrew Vasquez.

Lawrence threw 3.1 innings for the Blue Jays this season. The 34-year-old faced 15 batters and held a 2.70 ERA.
