After dropping Friday night’s game to the Detroit Tigers, the Toronto Blue Jays are switching things up a bit on Saturday.

Davis Schneider is back in the leadoff spot and playing left field after starting on the bench Friday. He did come into the game in the ninth inning and record a pinch-hit single.

He is replacing Daulton Varsho, who led off and played left in the 6-2 loss. Varsho is out of the lineup for the first time since May 7.

Justin Turner will make his season debut as Toronto’s No. 2 hitter. He spent 40 games in the two-hole for the Boston Red Sox in 2023, slashing .312/.387/.552 in 154 at-bats.

Alejandro Kirk and Ernie Clement are both slotting back into the starting nine. Clement will play third base and hit eighth, while Kirk is handling the duties behind the plate and batting sixth.

Kirk, Clement and Schneider all recorded pinch-hit hits in the ninth inning on Friday night, marking just the 11th time in franchise history that three players have come off the bench and recorded a knock in a game, per broadcast statistician Scott Carson.
