The San Francisco Giants announced Monday they have re-signed right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSclafani to a three-year contract worth $36 million.
DeSclafani, who joined the Giants last season on a one-year deal, hit new highs across the board reaching double digits in wins for the first time with 13 and also posted a career-best 3.17 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.
The 31-year-old DeSclafani, who made 31 starts in 2021, also tied for the MLB lead in shutouts with two.
“He had a really nice year for us,” President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi said in a video on the Giants website. “Beyond his individual stats, we were 21-10 in games that he started, so the team had a lot of success when he took the ball, which is obviously of the ultimate importance.”

Outfielder Alex Dickerson was designated for assignment to make room for DeSclafani on the 40-man roster.
Meanwhile, San Francisco is also reportedly close to welcoming back lefty Alex Wood on a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Wood, who also signed a one-year contract with the Giants for the 2021 season, went 10-4 with a 3.83 ERA and 1.183 WHIP over 26 starts.
