MLB Draft Round 1 Recap: Davis goes first-overall, Blue Jays select Hoglund

The Pittsburgh Pirates surprised by selecting catcher Henry Davis with the No. 1 pick; talented pitching prospect Jack Leiter went second-overall and the highly touted Marcelo Mayer dipped to No. 4 with the Boston Red Sox.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected Gunnar Hoglund, an intriguing right-hander who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, and will not select again until the third round of the draft.
