Reaction to The Decision: Judge reportedly rejected Padres, Giants to re-sign

Aaron Judge didn’t take part in a live television program like LeBron James in 2010 — who can forget The Decision? — when it came time to determine his future baseball home.

But just like when James opted to take his talents to South Beach, all eyes were on Judge at the Winter Meetings.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reported Judge flew to San Diego at the last minute to weigh offers from the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants before the Yankees increased their offer.

The Yankees’ move convinced Judge to stay in pinstripes as he signed a nine-year, $360-million deal on Wednesday — in the aftermath of his AL MVP season in which he smashed a league-record 62 homers.

Judge’s earlier decision to bet on himself — he turned down a $213.5-million extension offer from the Yankees before last season — netted him an extra $146.5 million.

The deal was the talk of baseball on Wednesday.

Here’s a sampling of some of the reaction to the signing on social media.
