One of Canada's World Cup breakout players is set to ply his trade in MLS.
Centre-back Luc de Fougerolles is heading to Real Salt Lake on loan from Premier League club Fulham, Tom Bogert of The Athletic reported Thursday.
According to Bogert, the loan will last until January but will include an option to extend the deal through May, which would cover the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, beginning in February.
The 20-year-old was a key contributor to Canada's World Cup run, breaking into the side as a replacement for the injured Moise Bombito and cementing his place with some solid showings over all five Canada games.
De Fougerolles has spent his entire career in the Fulham system, joining the team's academy in 2013 as an eight-year-old and working his way up to the under-21 side.
He hasn't yet appeared in the Premier League, but he made his senior club debut on Nov. 1, 2023, in a Carabao Cup game against Ipswich Town. Last summer, he signed a four-year extension with Fulham to stay at the club through 2029.
The London, England, native spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Dender EH in the Belgian Pro League, where he made 30 appearances across all competitions for the last-place side.
