Some new blood is coming to Toronto FC.
TFC finalized a deal to acquire Lewis Morgan from San Diego FC in exchange for a 2026 International Roster Slot, the team announced Wednesday.
The MLS club is also finalizing a loan to bring over Colombian winger Alejandro Piedrahita, Tom Bogert of The Athletic reported on Wednesday.
Morgan, 29, joined San Diego this season before previously playing for both Red Bull New York and Inter Miami.
“We are happy to add Lewis at this time. He has established himself as an impactful attacker in the Eastern Conference over the past several seasons,” said Toronto FC General Manager Jason Hernandez in a statement. “His flexibility to play across multiple positions in the attack will be a valuable quality for our group moving forward.”
Morgan had three assists over 13 appearances with San Diego this season. He has also made seven senior appearances for Scotland on the international stage.
Piedrahita, who turns 24 on Thursday, had been playing with CSKA Sofia, with whom he won the Bulgarian Cup. The loan will go through to next summer, per Bogert.
Piedrahita had two goals in 18 games with Sofia after joining from Liga Argentina following a stint in Colombia.
He could serve as an immediate replacement for TFC's Deandre Kerr, who is reportedly set to join Portugal's Avs Futebol.
The Reds return to action Saturday against the Chicago Fire.
