Toronto FC is making a huge addition to it's back line.
The MLS club is finalizing a deal to bring in star centre back Walker Zimmerman, The Athletic's Tom Bogert reported on Saturday.
Zimmerman, 32, has played for Nashville SC since 2020, and is one of the premier backs in American soccer. He won back to back MLS Defender of the Year awards in 2020 and 2021.
The Lawrenceville, Ga. native represents the United States internationally, suiting up in all four of their 2022 World Cup matches.
Zimmerman began his pro career with FC Dallas in 2013, playing there until 2017. He spent two years with Los Angeles FC, before joining Nashville.
He is a four-time MLS all-star and has been named to the MLS Best XI five times.
Toronto had another poor year in 2025, finishing 12th in the Eastern Conference, missing the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. They scored 37 goals all season, which was the third fewest in the MLS.
