Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser is not ready to confirm if the team's newest blockbuster addition will take the pitch this weekend.
Josh Sargent's status for the team's match against FC Cincinnati on Saturday is still to be decided, Fraser told reporters.
Sargent was introduced on Wednesday after signing as a designated player through the 2030-31 MLS season.
The American forward made the jump to MLS after five years with the EFL's Norwich City. Sargent racked up 56 goals in 157 appearances with the Canaries, including eight this season.
Unlike Sargent, newly acquired defender Benjamin Kuscevic is available to play on Saturday, Fraser confirmed. The Chilean centre back joined TFC on loan from Brazil's Fortaleza for the 2026 MLS season, with an option to purchase.
TFC has had a less than ideal start to its season, losing back-to-back matches.
