Toronto FC's best run in franchise history came with 'Atomic Ant' Sebastian Giovinco leading the charge.
Now, the Reds are trying their hand with another small midfielder.
TFC signed the five-foot-five, 131-pound Antone Bossenberry Romero to a first-team contract through the 2028-29 season, the club announced on Tuesday.
Bossenberry, an 18-year-old Toronto native, will come to the big club from TFC II.
"Antone has accelerated through our pathway after a strong first-team experience this pre-season. He continues to demonstrate he is up for the challenge here at the club and in the youth national-team environment. We look forward to continuing to work together and be a part of his development and growth," TFC GM Jason Hernandez said in a statement.
Bossenberry made his MLS debut in April against Atlanta and has made three total appearances for TFC.
He was named to The Guardian's list of top 60 young soccer talents in October.
His next appearance with TFC could come as early as Wednesday at home against Orlando City.
