Toronto FC goalkeeper Alex Bono is expected to be sidelined two to three weeks after undergoing surgery to treat a dislocated little finger on his right hand, the team announced Sunday.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury in training on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Bono was named to MLS’ Week 16 Team of the Week after posting a clean sheet in Toronto FC’s 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution on Wednesday.
Bono has yet to give up a goal in three starts this season.
