Toronto FC will be shorthanded as it looks to build on its point streak this weekend.
Defenders Walker Zimmerman and Kobe Franklin are set to miss Saturday's game against Columbus Crew as they work their way back from injury, it was announced Wednesday.
Zimmerman has missed the team's last three games with an ankle injury and, according to head coach Robin Fraser, is a little ways off from returning to action.
He last appeared in TFC's 3-1 loss to St. Louis City on Sept. 19.
The American centre-back has one goal in 22 MLS appearances this season, including 21 starts.
Franklin, meanwhile, suffered a shoulder injury in last weekend's 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls and was subbed out in the 28th minute.
According to Fraser, the Canadian full-back is a couple of weeks away.
The 23-year-old Toronto native has two goals and two assists in 20 MLS appearances this year.
Toronto FC is 2-1-2 in its last five games and sits 10th in the Eastern Conference — just out of a playoff spot — heading into the final four games of the MLS campaign.
