Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira has stepped up on short notice to take on Carlos Condit at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Glendale, Ariz.

Oliveira is replacing Matt Brown several days after Brown announced he had to withdraw from his fight with Condit after suffering a significant knee injury.

The UFC made the official announcement late Wednesday.

Oliveira (18–4–1 with two no-contests) is coming off a technical knockout loss to Yancy Medeiros in a Fight of the Night performance at UFC 218 in early December. Meanwhile, Condit (30–11) will look to snap a three-fight losing streak. The former WEC and interim UFC champion dropped a unanimous decision to Neil Magny in his most recent outing in late December.

UFC Glendale takes place April 14 at Gila River Arena and is headlined by lightweights Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.
