Two-time Olympic gold medallist judoka Kayla Harrison made quick work of Mariana Morais, while Renan Ferreira picked up the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career when he knocked out former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum at the third Professional Fighters League event of 2021.

Harrison is now 9-0 in MMA. She dominated Morais in her return to lightweight following a win over Courtney King down in Invicta FC’s featherweight division in November. The 30-year-old is among the top rising fighters in all of MMA.

Ferreira stopped Werdum midway through the opening round after defending a triangle choke from the Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend, landing hard punches from the top position to win in his PFL debut. Upon review, however, it appeared Ferreira may have tapped unbeknownst to the referee while trapped in the choke.

Also on the main card, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman’s brother, Mohammed Usman, was submitted by Brandon Sayles.
