A welterweight bout between fan favourites Matt Brown and Carlos Condit has been cancelled after Brown revealed he suffered a torn ACL in training.

Brown confirmed his injury early Tuesday, less than two weeks out from the UFC Fight Night event scheduled to take place April 14 in Glendale, Ariz.

This is not the first time Brown has pulled out of a scheduled bout with Condit. The two were supposed to meet back in December 2013 but Brown withdrew the week of the fight after suffering two herniated discs in his back.

The UFC is reportedly seeking a replacement opponent for Condit, the former WEC and interim UFC 170-pound champ, however it’s unclear at this time who the opponent might be.

Condit (30–11) has lost three straight fights and four of his past five dating back to 2014, while Brown (21–16) was coming off a knockout victory over Diego Sanchez in November.

The Glendale event is headlined by an enticing lightweight scrap between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.
