Canadian lightweight Mike Ricci has been cut by the UFC following a loss at the promotion’s most recent event in Toronto, according to president Dana White.
The 27-year-old Ricci lost a split decision to Myles Jury at UFC 165 last weekend, and it has now cost him his job with the UFC.
Ricci made it to the finale of The Ultimate Fighter in a division above the regular one he competes in. He lost the final bout of the tournament to Colton Smith, but then returned to the win column against Colin Fletcher in March.
Although his official record with the UFC was 1-1, the Tristar representative was looking to rebound from these two sub-par performances in his bout against Jury.
