Frank Mir says he’s been granted his release from the UFC.

The former heavyweight champ made the announcement Saturday via Twitter.

Mir hasn’t competed since March 2016 when he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Mark Hunt. He then tested positive for oral turinabol metabolites, the United States Anti-Doping Agency determined.

Although Mir has maintained his innocence, he was suspended in April for two years, retroactive to his last fight. Mir has been seeking his release from the UFC dating back to last year.

Mir has made 27 UFC appearances, tied for tops with middleweight Michael Bisping and light heavyweight Tito Ortiz, and posted a 16-11 record.
