On Tuesday, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was in Toronto to promote the release of his first book, titled “The Way of the Fight,” and to sign autographs for fans.
According to the book’s description on chapters.ca, his book is: “An intimate, human and philosophical look at the life of the UFC world champion-his journey from years of bullying to the very top of the world of mixed martial arts.”
Had a lot of fun yesterday in Toronto, so many fans and friends show up every time I go… amazing! twitter.com/GeorgesStPierr…

It was also confirmed this week that St-Pierre will play a villain named Batroc the Leaper in next year’s Captain America sequel, with filming set to take place soon.
This has led Johny Hendricks, the next challenger to his UFC title, to suggest St-Pierre will not be fully focused on their not-yet-official fight and will also have to take time away from training and should give him an advantage.
But St-Pierre has said in response that he has already been training and it won’t be a distraction.
He also spoke to UFC Central in a sitdown interview, where he quashed any speculation that he’s looking past his fight career.
“Don’t worry, I’m going nowhere,” St-Pierre said. “You have to take the opportunities when it’s there. It’s a great opportunity that opened for me. I’m sure if Johny Hendricks were in the same place, he would do the same. The smartest thing to do right now is to do it.
“I’m not at the end of (my UFC career) now. I’m having a good time. Like I said, the movie and (the book) have nothing to do with the end of my career.”
St-Pierre is expected to fight Hendricks, the No. 1 contender, some time in the fall.
