Brazil’s Iuri Alcantara made quick work of England’s Vaughan Lee in a featured preliminary bout at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event in Berlin.

Alcantara (30-5, 1 NC) wasted no time in landing a counter-left hook that sent Lee to the floor and three follow-up punches turned out the lights.

The bantamweight contender is slowly climbing the ranks at 135 pounds; Alcantara has won three of his last four fights in the UFC with his only loss being a competitive unanimous decision to perennial title challenger Urijah Faber.

Lee (14-10-1) fell to 3-4 in the UFC and has alternated wins and losses since debuting for the promotion in November 2011.

Also on the preliminary card, Magnus Cedenblad submitted Krzysztof Jotko with one second remaining in the second round of a back-and-forth middleweight scrap. Cedenblad has won two in a row and the victory resulted in Jotko’s first first career loss.

Germany’s Peter Sobotta returned to the UFC for the first time in four years, as he defeated Poland’s Pawel Pawlak by unanimous decision.

Sobotta went 0-3 in the UFC between 2009-2010, dropping unanimous decisions to Paul Taylor plus TUF winners James Wilks and Amir Sadollah. The 27-year-old eventually returned to the local European circuit where he won five straight fights by submission, which earned him another shot at the big show.

German Nick Hein picked up a unanimous decision win in his UFC debut against Drew Dober. Hein, a world-class judoka, landed the harder shots on the feet and defended Dober’s takedowns attempts throughout the 15-minute lightweight affair. Dober is now 0-2 in the UFC.

Maximo Blanco defeated TUF Live veteran Andy Ogle by unanimous decision in featherweight action and in the opening bout of the night Ruslan Magomedov edged Viktor Pesta by unanimous decision in a battle of heavyweight newcomers.
