Kimbo to face Mitrione at UFC 113 in Montreal

Kimbo Slice will make his second official appearance in the Octagon at the Bell Centre in Montreal, sources confirmed over the weekend.

Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, will take on Matt Mitrione (1-0) on the main card of UFC 113 on May 1.

The former internet streetfighting sensation, who had a less-than-stellar showing on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, won a decision over Houston Alexander at catchweight in the reality show’s live finale in Las Vegas. After getting handled by eventual winner Roy Nelson in an unofficial fight on the season’s third episode, Slice (4-1) outpointed Alexander in their mostly underwhelming Dec. 5 matchup.

Slice is most remembered for his 14-second TKO defeat prior to that fight, at the hands of the unheralded Seth Petruzelli, a late-replacement on a primetime EliteXC event on CBS in October 2008.

Mitrione, one of a number of ex-NFLers who competed on TUF 10, defeated Marcus Jones on the same card.
