Middleweight Luke Barnatt has urged British MMA fans to tune into his fight with Dylan Andrews in the quarterfinal stage of the latest series of The Ultimate Fighter tonight. According to coach Chael Sonnen, it is the ‘fight of the series’.
Also during Tuesday’s episode Kelvin Gastelum faces Collin Hart, plus UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson make guest appearances.
Fans in Canada can watch episode ten of TUF 17 at Midnight ET on Sportsnet East and Ontario, Midnight MT on Sportsnet West and Midnight PT on Sportsnet Pacific, plus visit Sportsnet.ca for weekly episode recaps
Though the filming was completed weeks ago for the reality tv series, with Barnatt now working as a sparring partner for Sonnen at his HQ in Oregon, as the American MMA star readies himself for a light-heavyweight title contest against incumbent champion Jon Jones in Newark, NJ, on April 27.
“If you check Chael’s twitter, in his opinion, my fight against Dylan Andrews is the fight of the season,” Barnatt told me yesterday on the ESPN UFC Podcast.
“Adam Cella from the show wrote on my Facebook wall and said it is the best fight since the Finale of TUF 1 Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar,” he added. If so, it must be a barnstormer.
“It’s a great fight, good style. He’s got a much bigger record than me, he’s 16-4 and has been fighting professionally since 2005 and he’s a pretty bad dude,” added Barnatt, who has painted the British MMA scene in a great light with his appearance on the 17th series. Michael Bisping and Ross Pearson are both winners of previous TUF series.
There are some big exchanges in it and it is definitely worth watching.
