Team Jones’ Josh Samman knocked out Team Sonnen’s Tor Troeng in one round on episode six of The Ultimate Fighter 17.
Troeng began by pressuring Samman up against the cage before methodically taking him to the ground. Samman managed to avoid any submissions and got back to his feet. While along the cage Samman landed several big right hands that Troeng ate.
Samman then landed a few strong knees to Troeng’s body. When the two separated, Samman moved forward and landed a jab, right cross combo that flattened Troeng and put an end to the fight.

Samman joins Team Sonnen’s Luke Barnatt, Kelvin Gastelum and Uriah Hall, plus Team Jones’ Collin Hart in the quarterfinals and with the win Jon Jones regained control of fight selection.
On the next episode of TUF 17, Team Jones’ Clint Hester fights Team Sonnen’s Jimmy Quinlan.
Outside of the cage, Hall — the owner of the greatest knockout in TUF history from earlier this season — caused a rift on Team Sonnen after Barnatt complained he was being too intense during training. Cooler heads prevailed, but going forward it could lead to more confrontations.
