The #IceBucketChallenge has taken the sports world by storm and two of the UFC’s biggest names have joined the party.
UFC president Dana White was challenged by Scott O’Neil, the CEO of the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia 76ers and the Prudential Center, and completed the task while on vacation.
White then challenged UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, UFC chairman Lorenzo Fertitta and longtime UFC fan Shaquille O’Neal.
Rousey, who is currently on a media tour for the action film Expendables 3 in which she is featured, accepted the challenge Tuesday during an appearance on Fox Sports Live.
The 27-year-old UFC superstar challenged fellow MMA star Gina Carano, plus Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and her Expendables 3 co-star Sylvester Stallone.
The goal of #IceBucketChallenge — which was started by former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates earlier this summer — is to raise awareness for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
