It’s completely fair to question and critique some of the decisions the new UFC owners at WME-IMG have made since taking over the mixed martial arts promotion. However, one area where you have to give them credit is the way they promote upcoming events to a mainstream audience.
The latest effort had them recruit rapper and renowned sports fan Snoop Dogg to break down the skills of welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and top contender Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson ahead of Saturday’s UFC 209 main event.
Mr. Dogg didn’t disappoint.
“Oooohhh. Oooooohhh. Wow. His punches got velocity.”
“He put him to bed with a karate kick? Damn, he went Bruce Lee on him?”
UFC 209 might have seen its co-main event cancelled, but at least we’ll always have this.
