Watch: UFC releases first Mayweather-McGregor ‘Embedded’ video blog

Tim Micallef and Eric Smith discuss the upcoming Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor super fight.

We’re now just four days away from what could end up being the most lucrative prizefight in history when UFC superstar Conor McGregor makes his boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The promotion for this fight has been unprecedented and, although it’s not a UFC event, the world’s leading mixed martial arts organization has plenty to gain financially from this fight. For that reason, the UFC has decided to release a special boxing version of its popular Embedded series—a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on during fight week.

McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy appears happy with how his pupil is progressing and believes he will continue to make improvements up until fight night.

“The hard training is gone. There’s no more 12-round sparring and there’s no more killing himself,” Roddy said. “He’s as fit as he’s going to be. He’s ready.”

At one point, McGregor and longtime friend and training partner, UFC featherweight Artem Lobov, are seen doing some light sparring drills during an off-day on the front lawn of a Las Vegas mansion with McGregor’s green Lamborghini in the background.

“His mind never stops working,” Lobov said. “This is not an official training session but his mind is always in that frame. He’s always thinking fighting, always thinking shots he can land, defensive work. Everything. His mind just never, never rests. Twenty-four/seven he’s thinking about it and I think that’s what separates him from the rest of the people. Most people they train, they go home, they forget about it. But his mind never stops.”

Both fighters seemed relaxed with McGregor and his team enjoying a day out at a unique gun range called Top Shot Las Vegas, while Mayweather and his crew spent some time at a driving range before chowing down on some fast food at a mall.

“Burger King, baby, what’s up? I gotta eat Burger King to keep that weight on,” a supremely confident Mayweather said through a mouthful of Whopper. “I’m so scared of Conor McGregor. I’m so scared of Conor McGregor. I just want to say thank you Dana White for bringing that b**** to the table.”
