The third mixed martial arts event from the Affliction clothing company was made official Friday when the company splashed the home page of its website with the show’s poster.
It confirmed that WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko will be taking on Josh Barnett in the main event of Affliction: Trilogy. As expected it will be held on Aug. 1 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Other names listed on the poster are (Gegard) Mousasi, (Ben) Rothwell, (Renato) Babalu (Sobral), (Tim) Sylvia, (Mark) Hominick, (Dan) Lauzon, (Chris) Horodecki and (Paul) Buentello.
The name of the show may be called “Trilogy,” but it doesn’t mean it is the end of the organization’s run as a promoter. According to COO Michael Cohen there will be many more events in the future, with a statement that their fourth event is pegged for the East Coast.
