A title fight between Toronto's Arthur Biyarslanov and Mexico's Lindolfo Delgado is likely off, with promoters looking for a new opponent for Biyarslanov.
Biyarslanov's coach Samuel Décarie-Drolet confirmed to The Canadian Press that Delgado has yet to arrive in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The match for the vacant IBF junior welterweight title was scheduled for this coming Saturday.
It's part of the undercard for Christian Mbilli's first defence of his WBC super middleweight title against Canelo Alvarez.
Décarie-Drolet says he understands Delgado may have security concerns about coming to Saudi Arabia but notes that Biyarslanov, his camp, and all the other fighters on the card made it to Riyadh safely.
The federal government currently advises Canadians to avoid non-essential travel to Saudi Arabia due to ongoing conflict in the region.
