Lombard is a former Olympic judoka who is currently on a 20-fight win streak and has gone unbeaten in his last 25 fights. The native of Cuba has fought eight times for Bellator in the last three years and became the promotion’s 185-pound champion when he defeated Jared Hess by TKO in June 2009.
In his 35-fight career that dates back to 2004, Lombard has 32 wins — 17 of which have come by knockout or TKO — just two losses, one draw and one no contest. He holds wins over UFC veterans Trevor Prangley, Joe Doerksen, Brian Ebersole, Kalib Starnes, Jay Silva and James Te-Huna.
Lombard was scheduled to compete back at UFC 78 in November 2007 but had to withdraw due to visa issues.
The 34-year-old is considered by many to be a top-10 ranked middleweight
