Bilodeau beats Kingsbury to win dual moguls

Bilodeau, the reigning Olympic champion in duel moguls, defeated his rival Kingbury on Friday.

VOSS, Norway — Canadian Alex Bilodeau turned the tables on teammate Mikael Kingsbury to win the dual moguls in their second final in three days at the freestyle skiing world championships Friday.

Canadian Chloe Dufour-Lapointe, won the women’s gold medal.

Bilodeau, of Rosemere, Que., won his third straight world dual moguls title, and his second over Kingsbury, of Montreal, in the final. Kingsbury slipped in 2011.

Kingsbury, who beat Olympic champion Bilodeau in the moguls final Wednesday, lost Friday by an 18-17 margin.

Dufour-Lapointe, also of Montreal, topped her silver-medal finish in the 2011 world event.

She beat Miki Ito of Japan 18-17 in the final and ousted her younger sister, Justine, earlier 19-16.

American Hannah Kearney earned a dual moguls bronze medal for the third consecutive world event.

Ito, also the dual moguls runner-up in 2009, lost to Kearney in the moguls final Wednesday.
